Guidelines for Reaching out to The Committee

Guidelines for Reaching Out to the Committee

The Committee is a volunteer-led group that strives to assist members of the association in every way we can.

However, to help us help you, please keep the following in mind:

  1. Volunteer Effort: We are a group of volunteers giving our time to support the community. Please respect this when reaching out.
  2. Not the Council: While we aim to help, we are not the governing Council and cannot address matters within their jurisdiction in the same way.
  3. Majority Representation: Our role is to represent the broader community, not to advocate for a single individual or a small, vocal group.
  4. Respectful Communication: We understand that sometimes the issues on the street can cause our emotions to run high.  However, overly long, opinionated, blunt or rude/demanding emails are not productive and disrespect the time of our volunteers. Please keep your communications concise where you can and polite.
  5. Sharing of Information: Although personal emails and numbers may be shared from time to time, please be respectful, as this does not give permission to add our members to group chats or bring them into email threads without politely checking prior.

You can always contact us using [email protected], this ensures the whole committee receive the email.

To make it easier for us to assist you, please follow this simple format when reaching out:

  1. What is the issue you need help with?
  2. What has been done so far?
  3. Do you need to forward any supporting information to us?
  4. What would you like the outcome to be?

By following these guidelines, you help us assist you more efficiently and effectively.

The committee continues conversations in the background with regular syncs with councils, and regular meetings around FIP. We will only update the website when certain outcomes are achieved - this takes time and does not mean nothing has happened.

Thank you for your cooperation!
